For someone of higher rank, power, status, and position to engage someone of much lesser and/or inferior rank, status, power, and position in debate and/or argument. Not limited to just status, power, position, and rank but can and often do include intellect, capability, competence, and acumen.

Pope Francis has more authority than any man alive of earth - President, Dictator, Oprah - and he punches down every day in his attacks on Trads and faithful Catholics, Tradition,  and doctrine and so if Shea is jake with him doing that - and he is, Shea loves him some Francis- thens Shea has no logical case to apply that phony standard to Trump.

Over at there misnamed Catholic and loving it blog the always seething and sputtering Shea goes after Trump for his very funny dismissal of the little lunatic leftist from a frozen country
